Page 2TRURO SERVICE HELD FOR EARL HOLMES, 73
Funeral services for Earl Holmes, a life-long resident of the Truro community, were held Sunday afternoon at the Kale Funeral home in Truro.
Mr. Holmes died last Thursday at Truro. He was 73 years of age.
Mr. Holmes formerly operated a grocery store in Truro.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Nola Atkinson, Mrs. Marjorie Creger and Mrs. Patricia Dutton, all of Truro and Mrs. Dorothy Meader of Peru; a son, Harold Holmes of Des Moines; two sisters, Mrs. Beryl Patterson of Des Moines and Mr. Audrey Chapman, Derby; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Page 5FUNERAL AT TRURO FOR EARL HOLMES
Funeral services were held the afternoon of Nov. 7 at the Kale Funeral home in Truro for Isaac Earl Holmes, who died Nov. 4 at the age of 73.
The son of Mattie Carter and Isaac Holmes, he was born at Truro on Nov. 3, 1881. He spent his entire life in the Truro community spending over 35 years in various business activities there.
He retired from active business eight years ago.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Florence Franks, who died in 1939, and by an infant daughter, Ruth Marie.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Nola Atkinson, Mrs. Marjorie Creger and Mrs. Patricia Dutton all of Truro, and Mrs. Dorothy Meader of Peru; one son, Harold Holmes of Des Moines; two sisters, Mrs. Beryl Patterson of Des Moines and Mrs. Audrey Chapman of Derby; four grandsons and 2 great grandsons.
Officiating at the services were the Rev. Schilling. Burial was in the Hartman cemetery.
