Mrs. Mary E. Ilgenfritz died Sunday evening, July 8, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lester Stemen at Monroe. Mrs. Ilgenfritz who was 70 years of age, was critically ill, in the Methodist hospital in Des Moines, two years ago. After six months of treatment she improved and was taken to Mrs. Stemen’s where she has since been cared for. Two weeks ago, her condition again became critical, with heart trouble, and she died about 6:30 o’clock Sunday evening.
Mrs. Ilgenfritz is survived by eight children, two of whom reside here, Mrs. Ralph McElwain and Dr. H. F. Ilgenfritz. Her husband the late Rev. Elmer Ilgenfritz was a minister of the Methodist church for 42 years, and served as district superintendent at one time. He died July 14, 1926.
Funeral services were held at Monroe, Wednesday afternoon, July 11th, and burial was made in the Monroe cemetery. Dr. and Mrs. H. F. Ilgenfritz and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph McElwain drove over for the services.
