ST. CHARLES-Funeral services for Walter Rex Leggett, 55, of St. Charles, will be held at the Methodist church there this Thursday afternoon.
Mr. Leggett, a life-time resident of the St. Charles community, died June 30 at the Veterans hospital in Des Moines. He had suffered from heart trouble.
The son of Charles E. and Esther M. Leggett, he was born on a farm near St. Charles on May 22, 1897. On Jan. 1, 1921, he married Cora Johnston who survives him.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Carl Meilike of Des Moines; a son, Charles Leggett at home; two grandsons; his mother, Mrs. Esther Leggett of St. Charles; a sister, Mrs. Truman Johnston of St. Charles.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Leggett, who died in 1945.
Mr. Leggett was a member of the Methodist church, the Lions club and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Officiating at the services Thursday will be the Rev. Eldon Haworth. Burial will be made in the St. Charles cemetery.
