WALTER HARTMAN OF CRESTON DIES

Walter S. Hartman, former Winterset resident who spent 35 years as engineer for the C.B. and Q. railroad, died Nov. 21 at Greater Community hospital in Creston, following an illness of several weeks. He was 66 years of age.

Mr. Hartman was born at Waukee, a son of William and Laura Hartman. The family came to Winterset when he was a small boy and he attended school here. He lived at Winterset until he was 21 years of age. He started working for the railroad as a fireman.

He was a brother of Mrs. Walter Gray of Winterset.
