Funeral services will be held this Friday at 2 p.m. from the Richards Funeral home in Winterset for Mrs. Edith Harrell, whose death occurred Tuesday at Clarinda.
Mrs. Harrell was 78 years of age. She was the widow of the late John Harrell, a well known Scott township resident. She was born and reared in Winterset and spent most of her married life in Scott township.
Nearest surviving relative is a sister, Mrs. Grace Boyce of near Winterset.
The Rev. Glenn Parrott, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church will conduct the funeral services Friday.

Funeral services for Mrs. John Harrell of Winterset were held last Friday from the Richards Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Glenn Parrott, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
Mrs. Harrell's death had occurred at Clarinda Dec. 9.
She was the former Edith May Smith, daughter of William H. and Mary E. Smith, and was born in Winterset July 24, 1874. She was educated in the Winterset schools and at Des Moines college and as a young woman taught in the Madison county schools for a number of years.
She was active in the Baptist church as a choir member and in young people's work.
On March 25, 1903, she was married to John F. Harrell. They made their home on a farm in Scott township, until his death in 1951.
