Thomas G. Clopton Dies In California

Thomas G. Clopton, former Winterset resident, died at his home in Lindsay, California, Wednesday November 5th at the age of 64 years. He was born in Winterset July 28, 1888, the son of Asbury and Mary Clopton; he attended the Winterset schools and later was employed in the grocery stores of Luther Fox and Tidrick and Terrill.

Mr. Clopton's wife was the former Mabel Cleland of Bevington. In 1916 the family moved to Des Moines, where he served as automobile salesman, and in 1943 they moved to Lindsay, California, where they have since resided.

Surviving relatives include his wife; his daughter, Mrs. Beatrice Cantrell of Raleigh, N. Carolina, a sister, Mrs. Wilda Jacobs of Lindsay, a grandson, nine nieces and nephews. He also leaves three cousins, Robert and Gaymond Clopton and Mrs. Dorothy DeBok of Winterset.

Funeral and burial services were held in Lindsay.
