I. W. Rinard was born Oct 2, 1843, in Noble county, Ohio and died Jan. 18, 1913, at the age of 69 years, four months and nineteen days.
He came to Iowa with his parents in 1847. His parents settled in Henry county where they both died, leaving him at the age of eight years. He enlisted in the Fourth Iowa Cavalry at the age of eighteen and was discharged three years later at Gravy Springs, Alabama.
He was married Sept. 17, 1866 to Almira J. Clay. To this union was born ten children, six sons and four daughters. He leaves four sons, Wilbur, Ray, Albert and Wesley, the wife, daughters and one son having preceded him in death. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Payne of California, a brother, C. B. Rinard of Neodesha, Kansas and thirteen grandchildren to mourn his loss.
He was unassuming and cheerful with all and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
