SERVICES FRIDAY FOR JOHN WHARFF

St. Charles Resident Died at Memorial Hospital Here This Tuesday

John F. Wharff, a resident of the St. Charles community for 60 years, died at Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset, Tuesday, Nov. 3. He was 85 years of age.

Mr. Wharff was born at Liberty Center in Clarke county, March 21, 1868. He was married to Ella Baker of Lucas county on Sept. 24, 1894. She preceded him in death, as also did one son, Donovan D. Wharff.

Mr. Wharff was a harness maker by trade.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Fred Black of St. Charles; and six sons, Cecil Wharff of St. Charles, Harold Wharff of Des Moines, R. C. Wharff of Winterset, Harry Wharff of Bradenton, Fla., John Wharff of Levering, Mich., and Vance Wharff of Pontiac, Mich.

Funeral services will be held from the St. Charles Methodist church this Friday at 2 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Eldon Hayworth. Burial will be made in the St. Charles cemetery.
