Word has been received here of the death of Cliff R. Price, a pioneer resident of Madison county, who died at his home in Sacramento, California, October 12th, 1953 at the age of 77 years. A heart attack caused his death.
He was born in Lincoln township August 8, 1876, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Caleb Price. He attended the Winterset schools and lived here until he moved to California. He last visited Winterset in 1952, when he returned with Ross Peters of Long Beach, Calif., another former resident.
He leaves one daughter, Mrs. Helen Ponath of Yakima, Washington and a sister, Miss Nannie Price who resides in the W.C.T.U. home in Los Angeles. She is 91 years of age. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and a cousin, Earnest Leinard of Winterset. A brother, Mont Price, former Winterset resident was killed here in an accident in 1932.
The ashes of Mr. Price have been returned to Winterset and buried in the family lot of the local cemetery.
