Earlham, Ia., April 14, (Special) –
The funeral of Amos Diggs, who died Tuesday, April 7, at Lena, Ill., was held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the Friends church. A double mixed quartet composed of Fred Fry, James Roseman, Mrs. Wm. Allen, Mrs. Charles Maxwell, Mrs. Peter Bock, Mrs. Wm Stiles, Mervyn McLennan and Wm. Allen sang. Rev. Hester had charge of the services. John Neff, Ernest Thomas, Clement Godby, Allen Kenworthy, Clarence Wilson, and Wm. Jackson were pallbearers. Mr. Diggs, who was the father of Lottie Thomas, was born in 1848. he leaves another daughter to mourn his death. One son preceded him in death.

Mr. and Mrs. Loyal Thomas of Spencer attended the funeral of his grandfather, Amos Diggs, Friday.
Mrs. Jane Jackson, and daughter Mrs. Le Mar of Des Moines attended the funeral of her brother Amos Diggs, Friday.

Thursday, April 16, 1931Amos Peacock Diggs, son of Pleasant and Anna Peacock Diggs was born in Randolph County, Indiana, September 17, 1848. He with his parents came to Iowa to make their home in 1869.
On December 22nd, 1870 he was married to Elizabeth Nichols who preceded him in death 22 years ago today.
To this union were born a son and two daughters. The son, Charlie passed on to his reward in 1916. The two daughters, an aged sister, eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren survive him.
The end of the day April 7, marked the closing of a life of more than fore score years spent in service for those he loved.
