FUNERAL SATURDAY FOR FRANK DOTY

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon, Aug. 8, at the Methodist church in Macksburg for Frank Doty, well-known retired farmer and stockbuyer of the Macksburg community.

Mr. Doty died last Saturday Aug. 1 at the Madison County Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 78 years of age.

He was born in Union county in the year 1875. At the age of seven, he moved with his parents to Grand River township in Madison county, and had been a resident of this county ever since.

He was a member of the Macksburg Baptist church.

Preceding him in death was his first wife, the former Emma Pyle and two sons.

Surviving are his wife, the former Bessie Rowe; three daughters, Mrs. Jurgensen of Ankeny, Mrs. Kenneth Hall of Iowa City and Capt. Irene Doty, an army nurse, stationed in France; one brother, Jake Doty of Benton, Kan.; and one sister, Delila Pyle of Albuquerque, N. M.

Word has been received that Capt. Doty will arrive in Macksburg from France this Friday in time to attend funeral services this Saturday.

Officiating at the funeral will be the Rev. C. M. Rowe and the Rev. Ben Hamilton. Burial will be in the Moon cemetery near Macksburg.
