DANIEL PHILIP ARTHURS, Winterset

Daniel Philip Arthurs, 53, passed away at Westbridge Nursing and Rehabilitation in Winterset, Iowa on July 4, 2007 after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Windsor United Methodist Church, 6222 University Ave., Des Moines at 2 p.m.

Memorial gifts can be made to Middle River Hospice in Winterset, Iowa, or Windsor United Methodist Church.

Dan was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota on June 29, 1954 to Marilyn and Philip Arthurs. They moved to Des Moines in 1959 and Dan graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1972. He was a member of the Des Moines Musicians Union and played drums with area bands and traveled a few years as a professional musician. He attended DMACC and Drake University. He married Beverly True in 1979 and they had two children. He worked for Westinghouse Electric until retiring in 1989.

He is survived by his two children, Andrea Marie Arthurs (fiancé Aaron Muelhaupt) of Des Moines, and Daniel Hennessey (Lindsay) Arthurs of Des Moines, and their mother Beverly Arthurs of West Des Moines; his mother Marilyn Arthurs (Gail) Slack of West Des Moines; and his sister DeeAnn (Dennis) McCauley of Adel; and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his father, Philip Arthurs.
