Mrs. Abram Compton, of Cherokee, died in Ohio township on Thursday of last week. She with her husband came to her former home in our county, not many weeks ago, on a visit to her children and friends, and there passed away to her long home.

Note: Buried in the Beem-Beardsley Cemetery.

Scott Township

Mr. Compton’s and wife, of Cherokee county returned to this vicinity about two weeks ago, visiting their friends. His wife was taken sick a day or tow after their arrival and died in a few days with the cholera morbus.
