CHARLES B. DENLY DIES AT 38 YEARS

Well-Known Truro Resident Dies at Hospital in Osceola

Charles B. Denly, a well-known young farmer of the Truro community, died Monday, Aug. 22 at the Clarke county hospital in Osceola. He was 38 years of age.

Mr. Denly was a life-long resident of the community except for 18 months spent in Longmont, Colo. He was born near Truro Aug. 14, 1917, a son of Dave and Amy (Patterson) Denly. He was married at Corydon on May 23, 1929 to Hilda J. Gerdes, who survives him.

He was a member of the Truro Methodist church, Masonic Lodge, Order of Eastern Star and during his residence in Colorado was active in Boy Scout work.

In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, Karl Benjamin and John David; his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Denly; a brother, George Denly of Osceola; and two sisters, Mrs. J. I. Middleswart and Mrs. Alice Bishop of Indianola.

Funeral services were held last Thursday from the Truro Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Walter F. Schilling. Burial was made in the Hartman cemetery.

Truro Man Died in Osceola Monday

Services for Ben Denly to be Held at Truro Thursday

Ben Denly, 38, of Truro, died at the Clarke county hospital Monday afternoon after a long illness.

Services will be held at the Methodist church in Truro on Thursday, August 25 at 2:00 p.m.

Before his death he requested that donations for diabetic research be given instead of flowers at his services.

Survivors include his widow and two sons, Davis and Carl; one brother, George Denly of near Osceola, and two sisters, Mrs. Alice Bishop and Mrs. Geraldine Middleswart of Indianola.
