W. R. STEWART Died Wednesday

William R. Stewart, a farmer and carpenter in Madison county all his life, died Wednesday, June 28, 1950, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bernice Yates of Madison township with whom he had made his home the last five years. He was 84 years of age.

Mr. Stewart was born Nov. 16, 1865, in Jackson township, a son of Robert and Kate Stewart. He was married Jan. 31, 1900, to Irene Rogers. They were the parents of two children. The wife and mother died in 1917.

He was married a second time on June 8, 1927, to Mrs. Fannie Smith. Her death occurred in 1937.

Mr. Stewart is survived by the daughter, Mrs. Yates; a son, Walter Stewart of Marion; and a brother, Bert Stewart of Jackson township.

Funeral services were held Friday from the Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Ralph S. Hindman of Afton, a nephew of the deceased. Burial was made in the Wight cemetery in Webster township.
