SERVICES FRIDAY FOR TOM SMITH, 92

Funeral services for Thomas E. Smith, a Madison county resident for 89 years, will be held this Friady, May 6, at 2 p.m. from the Adnerson home for Funerals.

Mr. Smith died May 3 at Madison County Memorial hospital here. He was 92 years of age.

The son of O. H. and Elisa Smith, he was born in Linn county, Iowa on April 16, 1843. At the age of three, he came with his parents to Webster township in this county.

Mr. Smith continued to live in Webster township until 1942, when he and his wife moved to Winterset.

On Sept. 8, 1887, he was married to Clara Jane Weeks at the home of the bride's parents in Monroe township. Last September, Mr. and Mrs. Smith observed their 67th wedding anniversary.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Smith is survived by four children, Myrtle Coffman of Winterset, Carl G. Smith of St. Charles, Floy Denney of Stuart, and Glen F. Smith of Los Angeles, Calif; two sisters, Mrs. Inez Decker of Haxtun, Colo., and Mrs. Olive Bond of Winterset; five grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Officiating at the services, this Friday afternoon will be the Rev. Charles Bellus. Burial will be in the Winterset cemetery.
