Wednesday, February 22, 1955FORMER WINTERSET PHYSICIAN IS DEAD
Dr. Frank L. Smith, 88, retired physician and surgeon, and former Winterset resident, died Thursday, February 17th, at the Skiff hospital in Newton. Funeral services were held at Newton, Sunday, and burial was at Eagle Grove.
Dr. Smith retired in 1937, after 25 years of practice, at Newton, and had previously practiced at Winterset, Des Moines, and Monroe. The Smiths had lived at Rensaelar, New York, since his retirement, but he became ill, last week, while visiting his daughter, Mrs. Maurice Crabb of Eagle Grove, and he was taken to the Newton hospital for treatment.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Crabb, and Mrs. Edward L. Booper, of Rensaelar, and two grandchildren, at Eagle Grove.
