NATIVE OF PATTERSON DIES IN DES MOINES

Ray Stiles, Son of Former Madison County Auditor

Word has been received here of the death last week end of Ray Stiles of Des Moines. Mr. Stiles, who was 63 years of age, was born on the Stiles farm near Patterson but moved to Winterset, when a youth, as his father, Cash Stiles became Madison county Auditor. Later the family moved to Des Moines where he has since resided.

Mr. Stiles served in World War I and has been prominent in legion activities.

He is survived by his wife and their three children, Raymond, who is in service in Okinawa, Hugh Dean and Mrs. Marilyn McGill. He also leaves a brother, Ralph Stiles of Aurora, Illinois. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cash Stiles and a younger brother, Dale Stiles have preceded him in death. He also leaves an aunt, Mrs. T. J. McGinnis of Patterson.

Funeral and burial services were held in Des Moines, Monday.
