Merril Spellerberg, Murray

Merril Dean Spellerberg, 63, of Murray died Dec. 1, 2003 at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Visitation was held Wednesday, Dec. 3, with cremation following. No funeral services were held.

Merril Spellerberg was born Oct. 17, 1940 in Clarke County to Oscar Fields and Helen Corene (Simmerman) Spellerberg. He was a graduate of Truro High School. Merril had lived and worked on the family farm for most of his life. He also had worked for New Virginia Seed and Grain and for the City of Lorimor. He was a member of the Lorimor Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donny Spellerberg; and a sister Edna Parker.

He is survived by a son, Michael Spellerberg of Cedar Rapids; his longtime companion Cindy Garrett of Peru; two stepdaughters, Angela Holtry and Rachel Miller, both of Peru; and seven grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by Kale Funeral Homes of Osceola and Truro.
