Dorothy M. Rhodes, 84, of Tingley and formerly of Red Oak, died April 20, 2002 in Creston.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, April 24) at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak with the Rev. Robert Campbell officiating. Burial was a Evergreen Cemetery.
Dorothy Rhodes was born Feb. 8, 1918 to Raymond and Goldie (Green) Brees of Pacetown, Mo. She graduated from Stanton High School in 1936. In 1938 she was united in marriage to Charles Bowman. She later married John Duane "Dusty" Rhodes in 1976. Dorothy had worked in housekeeping at St. Joseph's Hospital in Omaha, Neb. She also took care of homebound patients.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a brother, an infant brother and two brothers-in-law.
She is survived by a daughter, Virginia Richards (husband Frank) of Tingley; four son, Robert Bowman (wife Nancy) of Winterset, Chuck Bowman (wife Becky) of Red Oak, Merrill Bowman (wife Rose) of Council Bluffs and Richard Bowman (wife Bev) of Omaha, Neb.; a brother, Deane Brees (wife Darlene) of Nodaway; two sisters, Juanita Thorne and Maxine Hall, both of Red Oak; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
