C. G. GIFFORD DIES AT PERU

Life-Long Resident of This County Was 89 Years of Age

Charles F. Gifford, a life-long resident of Madison county, and one of the oldest residents of the Peru community, died last Wednesday, Sept. 14, at his home in Peru. He was 89 years of age.

Mr. Gifford was born in Madison county on May 17, 1866, a son of Benjamin and Mary Gifford. He was well known in his community, was a member of the Methodist church and the Masonic lodge.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Agnes Armstrong of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held from the Kale funeral home at Truro. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
