FRED PURSCELL DIED SATURDAY

Death Results From Stroke For Former Resident Aged 48 Years

Fred F. Purscell, a resident of Winterset most of his life, died last Saturday, Sept. 6 at a Des Moines hospital, following a cerebral hemmorhage. He was 48 years of age.

Mr. Purscell was born at Winterset and spent his early life here. He left Winterset in 1942, and lived for a time in Missouri but for the last eight years his home had been in Des Moines.

He was a member of the Moose lodge; and the West Des Moines Christian church.

Surviving are his wife, Viola; a daughter, Judith, aged 5 years; a son Jack, aged 3 years; his mother, Mrs. Hattie Rawley of Winterset; and four brothers, Joe Purscell of Des Moines, Guy Purscell of Winterset, Louis Purscell of Colfax and Lawrence Purscell of the U. S. Air Force.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the Hamilton's Funeral home in Des moines with burial in Highland Memory Gardens.
