MRS. MARTHA E. COEN OF PATTERSON DIES

Mrs. Martha E. Coen of Patterson died at Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset Saturday, Dec. 31, at the age of 84 years.

Mrs. Coen was born in Madison county March 7, 1871. She was the former Martha Ellen Haynes, daughter of George and Elizabeth Haynes.

She was married to William L. Coen on March 31, 1892. They were the parents of five children. One daughter, Addie, preceded her in death.

Surviving are four children, Mrs. Fern Folwell of Patterson, Mrs. Fay O'Hara of Winterset, Charles Coen of Patterson and Clarence Coen of Des Moines; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, John Haynes of St. Charles; and three sisters, Mrs. Abigail Durham in California, Mrs. Gene Crawford of Truro; and Mrs. Annie Payne, with whom she made her home, at Patterson.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Patterson Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Eldon Hayworth. Burial was made in Montpelier cemetery at Patterson.
