DR. HAROLD R. BROWNE DIES

St. Charles (Special)--

Funeral services were held on Friday, Jan. 28th, in Colorado Springs, Colo., for Dr. Harold R. Browne, 47 years old. Dr. Browne who was born in St. Charles and later lived in Des Moines, was last in Des Moines, in the spring of 1953, to conduct the initial financial campaign for the First Baptist church Building Fund. He suffered a fatal heart attack on Monday, January 24, in Denver, Colo., where he was conducting a financial campaign for St. John's Episcopal Cathedral.

At the time Dr. Browne was in Des Moines, he was public relations Director for the fund raising firm of Marts and Aundy of New York City. He was assistant to the President of Colorado college at Colorado Springs from December 1953 until December 1954 when he resigned to conduct the Denver Fund drive. His home was in Colorado Springs.

Surviving are his widow, Sally; three daughters, Patricia, Linda and Brenda, all of Colorado Springs; his father, Merle R. Browne and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Muselman, Mrs. Grace Mauro, and Mrs. Marion Hengesteg, all of Des Moines, and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Vir... (text stops in mid-sentence)
