Viola C. Oglesbee, Corning

Viola Coreen Oglesbee, 71, died of a stroke Feb. 15, 2002, at Algent Health-Mercy Hospital in Corning.

Funeral services were held Tuesday Feb. 19, at Carl United Methodist Church with the Rev. Fred Bryson officiating. Burial was at Carl Cemetery.

Viola Oglesbee was born Feb. 14, 1931, near Stuart (in Madison County) to Stephen F. and Eva Coreen (Macumber) Bond. She was a 1949 graduate of Winterset High School. On Jan. 28, 1950, she married Carl Reese Oglesbee in Des Moines. Viola was a licensed practical nurse for 40 years. She had worked at Colonial Manor and Country Haven in Corning. She had resided in Greenfield, Winterset, Peru and Alvord, Texas. She moved to Corning in 1968. She was a member of the Carl United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister and a grandson.

She is survived by her husband, Carl of Corning; two daughters, Carla Dodd (husband Pat) of Enid, Okla., and Teresa Miller (husband Craig) of Lineville; two sons, Dwight Oglesbee (wife Kathy) of Corning and Blaine Oglesbee of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a sister, Bulah Dillinger (husband Harold) of Peru; 10 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
