BESS B. MARTIN DIED IN MICHIGAN

W.H.S. Graduate Had Attained High Rank in Business World

Bess B. Martin former Winterset resident, died suddenly recently at Ypsilanti, Mich., where she had gone to visit a sister. Her death was due to a heart attack.

Miss Martin was a daughter of Mrs. W. W. Martin of Van Meter. She graduated from the Winterset high school and later from the State University of Iowa with the class of 1913. As a student there she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, Mortar Board and Phi Beta Kappa honorary scholastic fraternity. For many years prior to her death she was connected with the Remington Rand corporation as a business analyist in Chicago. At the time of her death she was temporarily located in Washington. D.C.

She is survived by her mother, three sisters, Miss Ethyl Martin and Mrs. B. V. Crawford of Iowa City and Mrs. Ruth Ensign of Ypsilanti.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Dunn funeral home in Des Moines and burial was made in the Rest Haven cemetery there.
