Joyce Hilden, Winterset

Joyce Margaret Hilden, 78, of Winterset died April 8, 2005 at her residence.

No services are planned. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Fargo, N. D.

Joyce Hilden was born April 6, 1927 in Bowbells, N. D. to Osmund and Inga (Ostby) Gunvaldsen. She was a 1944 graduate of Fargo Central High School and attended North Dakota State University, where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.

On June 14, 1947 she married Richard Hilden in Fargo, N. D. During their married life they lived in several states, retiring to Arizona. Joyce was an active member of the Lutheran Church. She also volunteered at nursing homes, schools and numerous charity events throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband and three sisters, Ruth Herderich, Agnes Stevenson and Esther Myhra.

She is survived by three daughters, Cynthia Joyce Lane of Des Moines, Nanci Joy Hilden of St. Louis Park, Minn., and Linda Jo Kirkland of Winterset; one son, Paul Richard Hilden of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; a sister, Irene Diederich of Fargo, N. D.; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset.
