Wednesday, October 13, 1943MRS. ALICE HIATT DIES
Mrs. Alice Hiatt, former Madison county resident, died in West Des Moines Sunday, Oct. 10th at the age of 77 years.
Alice Jane Lane, eldest child of Newton and Josephine Lane, was born in Dallas county, Aug. 24, 1866. She was married to Alonzo A. Hiatt of Winterset, June 22, 1887. They were the parents of two sons and two daughters. The sons, Guy and Roy died in infancy, and Mr. Hiatt died January 21, 1935.
She is survived by her two daughters Mrs. Josephine Biddle and Mrs. Bernice Halterman, three grandchildren, and one great grandchild. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Elva Allen of Truro and Mrs. Anna Jamison of Waukee and one brother, Roy Lane of Earlham.
She had resided in Polk county since 1906 and funeral and burial services were held in West Des Moines Tuesday.
