FORMER RESIDENT DIES

Fred Q. Hartsook, former Lincoln township resident, died at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines, Friday, November 5th. Mr. Hartsook who was 42 years of age had an operation ten days ago and was recuperating satisfactorily when a blood clot formed causing his death.

He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Hartsook and lived in Lincoln township until he was of high school age, when the family moved to Des Moines. He was graduated from North high and the University of Pennsylvania, in a course of architecture. For a number of years he served as interior decorator of Younkers in Des Moines and recently has been in business for himself, specializing in designing lighting fixtures for large movie houses. He had also won a number of prizes for his oil paintings.

He is survived by his wife and two children-Quentin and Jean, his mother, Mrs. Andrew Hartsook and two brothers, Arthur and Robert all of Des Moines. He also leaves a number of aunts, uncles and cousins in this county.

Funeral services were held at Dunn's funeral home in Des Moines, Monday, November 8 at three o'clock.
