Rosalie Slayden was born January 22, 1864, in Decatur county, Iowa. She was married to John Miles, November 10, 1881. To this union seven children were born, two of whom preceded her in death.
Those remaining are Elsie Lathrum, of Truro, Charley Miles of Portland, Mich., Maud Weeks of Fullerton, Neb., Catherine Taylor of Grand Rapids, Mich., Ray Miles of Lorimor, besides several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a host of friends.
Her husband, John Miles, preceded her in passing, his demise occurring April 6, 1904. On January 25, 1910, she was married to John Bell, he preceding her in death Feb. 23, 1932. To this latter union one daughter, Doris was born.
She has lived with her daughter Elsie Lathrum for the past three years.
