ROSS ROBINSON RITES HELD HERE TUESDAY

Former Resident Succumbed At Marshalltown Early This Week

Funeral services for Ross E. Robinson, who died on Sunday at the Deaconess hospital in Marshalltown were held here Tuesday from the Methodist church in charge of the Rev. Glen Fillman of Davenport. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery. Mr. Robinson was ill for only a few days.

Mr. Robinson was a resident of Winterset and vicinity most of his life. He was born in Scott township on Nov. 18, 1890, the son of Charles J. and Ida Jane Robinson. He lived in this county until 1920, when he moved to La Plata, Mo. He returned here a few years later and then lived in Ottumwa, Osceola, and Des Moines, before going to Marshalltown where he had spent the past five years.

He was a stock buyer by trade all his life.

He was married on March 23, 1910, to Miss Grace Hartman, who survives him. He also leaves three children, Harold and Miss Frances Robinson of Marshalltown; and Mrs. Paul Carter of Indianola; a brother, Ray Robinson, and a sister, Mrs. Miles Black, both of Winterset. He also is survived by five grandchildren.

Ross E. Robinson, Stock Buyer, Dies

Ross E. Robinson, 112 North Eighth street, died Sunday 12:04 a.m. at the Deaconess hospital. He had been in the hospital for only a week. Death was caused by a complication of diseases.

Mr. Robinson was a stock buyer all of his life, for Morrell in Ottumwa, Wilson’s in Cedar Rapids, and has been an independent dealer of livestock in this section since coming here.

He was born in Scott township in Madison county, Iowa, Nov. 18, 1890, the son of Charles J. and Ida Jane Robinson. He lived in and near Winterset until 1920. He was married there on March 23, 1910, to Miss Grace Hartman. After leaving Winterset, they moved to La Plata, Mo., for eight years and then moved back to Winterset. They lived in this city for six months in 1933, also in Ottumwa, Osceola and Des Moines. They came back to this city five years ago.

Mr. Robinson is survived by his widow, his father, Charles J. Robinson of Winterset, and three children, Harold and Miss Frances Robinson of this city and Mrs. Paul Carter of Indianola. He is also survived by a brother, Ray Robinson of Winterset and a sister, Mrs. Miles Black, also of Winterset, and by five grandchildren.

Services will be held at the Methodist church in Winterset, Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock with burial in the Peru cemetery, 10 miles southeast of Winterset. The body will be at the Pursel funeral home until Tuesday morning.
