MRS. N. A. PACKARD DIED MARCH 4

Anna Elizabeth Andrew daughter of Wm. A. and Martha Elizabeth Andrew was born July 7, 1857 in La Porte, Indiana. Depoarted this life March 4, 1940 at the age of 82 years and eight months.

In the year of 1868 Anna Andrew came to Adel, Iowa, 14 years later on March 22, 1882 she was united in marriage to Newell A. Packard and with her husband came to Earlham to make their home.

To this union four children were born, May, Albert, Martha and Mildred. Her husband and one daughter preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters and one son, Mrs. Dale Mullins of Winterset, Mrs. E. A. Beck of Des Moines; and James Albert Packard of Los Angeles, California. Two granddaughters, Lucy Strong, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Betty Su Mullins, Winterset. One sister Mrs. Irene Brown of St. Joseph, Missouri, three half sisters and three half brothers, Mrs. Rebecca Bolsby, Yacama, Washington; Mrs. Harry McNutt, Des Moines; Mrs. Elizabeth Tonney, Detroit, Michigan; James Irvin and Chas. Irvin of Earlham; Thomas Irvin, Des Moines. One sister Mrs. Lydia Johnson of Perry, Iowa, and one half brother Dr. Hiram Irvin of Earlham preceded her in death.

Burial was made at Earlham cemetery. Pall bearers were: Gladstone Foster, Donald Afflack, Ferd Bilderback, John Urquhart, Chester Ledlie, and Chas. Price.

MRS. N. A. PACKARD DIES

Mrs. N. A. Packard, well known Earlham resident, died Sunday after an extended Illness. Her funeral services were held in Earlham Wednesday afternoon. Her husband, Mr. Packard, died about a year ago. She leaves three children, one of whom Mrs. Delbert Mullins, lives near Winterset, More details of her life will be given in next week's Madisonian.
