MRS. HANNAH PHILLIPS DIES

St. Charles--(Special)--Oct. 12

Mrs. Hannah Phillips passed away Tuesday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. J. DeWit in Prairie City, having been stricken with paralysis a week before her death. She was 83 years of age and had spent the most of her life near Truro and in and near St. Charles.

Surviving are two daughters Mrs. Martha DeWit of Prairie City and Mrs. Grace Hartman of Monroe, and one son, James Gates. Her older son, L. C. Gates, preceded her in death two years ago. She also leaves two sisters, Miss Emma Small of St. Charles, and a sister who lives in Baker, Oregon.

Rev. J. F. Arnold, a friend of many years standing, conducted her funeral services at the Methodist church on Thursday afternoon and burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
