MRS. J. L. PINCKNEY SUCCUMBS AT PERU

Funeral Services Were Held Monday at Macksburg With Burial There

Mrs. J. L. Pinckney, long-time resident of the Macksburg and Peru communities, died at her home in Peru Saturday at the age of 59 years.

Mrs. Pinckney was the former Jessie Maud Sherman, daughter of Henry D. and Martha Lawrence Sherman, and was born in Wisconsin on April 20, 1881. She moved with her parents to near Macksburg in 1899, and was married there on April 20, 1900, to Joseph L. Pinckney. They were the parents of four children, all of whom survive.

Mrs. Pinckney was a member of the Methodist church, having joined at Macksburg before her marriage. After moving to Peru, she and Mr. Pinckney transferred their letters to the Peru church.

She is survived by her husband; the four children, Mrs. Ruby Wilson and Russell Pinckney of Peru, and Mrs. Mary Salisbury of Smithland, Ind., Henry Pinckney of Winterset; a sister, Mrs. May Holloway of Strafford, Mo.; and two brothers, William and Welsey Sherman of Osawatamie, Kan.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Macksburg Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. M. D. Summerbell. Burial was made in the Moon cemetery.
