Ralph E. Cook of Des Moines, formerly of Winterset, died of a heart attack at Marshalltown on Monday of last week.
Mr. Cook had been employed by the Northwestern Bell Telephone company for 39 years, and was working as construction foreman. He is survived by his wife; a brother, G. W. Cook of Des Moines; and a sister, Mrs. Harry Frey of Earlham.
Funeral services were held in Des Moines last Thursday and burial was made in the Glendale Masonic cemetery there.

Ralph E. Cook, construction foreman of the Northwestern Bell Telephone company for 39 years, died unexpectedly March 5, at Marshalltown, following a heart attack at the age of 66.
Mr. Cook was born in Winterset, November 14, 1880 and spent his early years here attending the local schools. He was the son of Arthur L. and Anna Cook.
He was a lifelong member of the Winterset Presbyterian Church in the Pioneer Masonic lodge of Des Moines.
On March 22, 1919, he was united in marriage with Rachel Thompson.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two step-daughters, Mrs. William Franklin of Des Moines; Mrs. Don Harrison of Los Angeles, California; a brother, Gidion W. Cook of Des Moines; a sister, Marcia Cook Frey of Berlin, and three nieces and one nephew.
Funeral services were held at Dunn’s funeral home in Des Moines, Thursday, March 8 at 1:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. Marvin Sansbury. Interment took place in the Glendale Masonic cemetery.
