August L. Blohm, 72 years old, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. L. C. Lathrum, north of Saylorville. He was born in Germany and came to this country with his parents, when just a boy. He has made his home in Des Moines for years, was a butcher by trade and served as meat inspector at Camp Dodge during the World War. He has also resided in Madison county. Mr. Blohm is survived by his wife and daughter, one son, C. C. Blohm of Des Moines; one sister, Mrs. Lewis Akin of Van Meter and two brothers, John of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Anthony of Los Angeles, California.
Funeral services were held at the home of his daughter, Monday May 6 and interment was made in Glendale cemetery in Des Moines. He was an uncle of Mrs. Charles Longnecker.
