FORMER RESIDENT DIES AT CRESTON

Ralph W. Bennett former Madison county resident, died Saturday, Aug. 9, at his home in Creston. He was 60 years of age.

Mr. Bennett was born in Adams county, Jan. 9, 1898, a son of James and Lillian Jones Bennett. His early life was spent in Adams county. As a young man he moved with his parents to Madison county, living here several years. In 1926 he moved to Union county and since 1930 had lived in Creston, where he was employed by the Creston Seed company.

He was married at Winterset Feb. 1, 1920 to Gladys McGuffin, who survives him. He also leaves three daughters, Mrs. Lois Tennant of Creston, Mrs. Ilene Hitchcock of San Diego, Calif., and Irene Bennett of Creston; a son, Duane Bennett of the U. S. Air Force; his mother, Mrs. Lillian Bennett of Creston; five brothers, Bernard of Macksburg, Alden of Winterset, Harold of Kansas City, Francis of Creston and Dr. Louis Bennett of Los Angeles; and six sisters, Mrs. Florence Keesler of Lorimor, Mrs. Bertha McKinzie of Macksburg, Mrs. June Haaf of Hebron, Mrs. Edna Cresswell of Dexter, and Mrs. Edith Huffman and Mrs. Elzie Ahnen of Creston.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday afternoon at Creston, conducted by the Rev. Robert Swick. Burial was to be made at Hill of Zion cemetery.
