Marilyn McKinney, 2-Years of Age, Victim of Tragic Martensdale Crash

Marilyn McKinney, 2-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. H. McKinney of Martensdale, was killed in an automobile crash last Thursday evening at Martensdale. The child was riding with her mother when their car collided with another driven by M. A. Peterson of Kansas City, Kan. The crash occurred at the intersection of highways No. 28 and 92 in Martensdale.

Mrs. McKinney was shaken up and received minor injuries. The little girl was rushed to the Mercy hospital in Des Moines, but died shortly after her arrival there. Peterson and Paul Howard of Kent, Ia., who was riding with him, were not injured.

The little girl's father has been working in Winterset for the past several months at the Winterset Ice company.

Funeral services for the child were held last Saturday from the Catholic church at Churchville. Burial was made in St. Patrick's cemetery in Lee township.
