DEATH OF W. B. HARPER

William Burris Harper, 73, a well-known farmer of this community, died Sunday, May 27th at his home south of Winterset. Death followed a brief illness.

Mr. Harper was born on the old Harper homestead, seven miles south of Winterset, on February 23, 1861, the son of Wheatly and Mary Harper. He passed his life in Madison county, never married but raised three orphaned children.

He is survived by the three foster children, Mrs. J. M. Kirk of St. Joseph, Missouri, Mrs. Everett Wright of Peru and Don Moore, a sister, Mrs. Mary Moore and two brothers, Anthony Harper of Peru and Wheatly Harper of near Winterset.

The Rev. Peter McStay conducted his funeral service which was held Tuesday at the Tidrick Funeral home in Winterset. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
