Mrs. Alice McAndrews Hudson was born in Indianola, Iowa, Sept. 9, 1869 and died at Harlan, Iowa, July 25, 1911, aged 41 years, 10 months and 16 days. She came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John McAndrews to Winterset, in 1872 and remained here till her marriage to W. C. Hudson on Sept. 27, 1887. To this union one son, John Hudson, was born, who together with her husband and father, mourn her early death. At the time of her death, they were living at Harlan, Iowa, where they have resided for a number of years.

She confessed her Lord and united with the M.E. church in Winterset in her girlhood and at the time of her death was a member of the Congregational church. She has been in poor health several years and her death relieved her of such suffering. She received all the sympathy and medical help her husband and father could give her but “there is a sickness unto death”.

Regular funeral services were held at Harlan and short services were held at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John McAndrews on East Jefferson street, July 28th, Rev. A. A. Walburn conducting the services, assisted by Hon. E. R. Zeller, who was acquainted with the deceased for years. Thus we lay away her body in Rock City cemetery in the hope of the resurrection.
