ROY COMBS DIES

Van Meter (Special)--Roy Combs died at his home at Ames Thursday, July 25th after an illness of several years. Mr. Combs was born in Applington, and was graduated from Iowa State college in 1915. He had been agricultural agent for 18 years in Clayton county, and won recognition in 4-H dairy judging team work, his team placing first and winning a trip to England.

Mrs. Combs was the former Eleanor Baur of Van Meter. Their marriage was solemnized July 10, 1932.

Mr. Comb's funeral was held at Ames Friday afternoon at 3:30. Burial was made in the Jefferson cemetery south of Van Meter.

He is survived by his wife, a son John of Cedar Rapids, a daughter, Mary Jean of Ames, his mother, Mrs. Genora Combs of Minnesota, four brothers, and a sister.
