W. L. COEN DIES

Funeral Services For Patterson Resident Will Be Held at Church Friday

W. L. Coen, well known Patterson and Madison county resident, died at his home early Wednesday morning after an extended illness. Mr. Coen who was 73 years of age, had been ill for the past six months.

He was born October 20, 1866, but came to this county with his parents when he was three years of age, and since has made this community his home. He was married to Miss Ella Haynes, March 31,1892, and were the parents of five children.

Funeral services for Mr. Coen will be held at the Patterson church Friday afternoon, Aug. 9th, at 2 p.m. and burial will be made in the Montpelier cemetery.

Mr. Coen is survived by his wife, and their children: Mrs. Roy Folwell of Patterson, Mrs. Charles Wade of Des Moines, and Mrs. J. W. O'Hara of Winterset, Charles Coen of Patterson and Clarence Coen of Des Moines.

Patterson Mail Carrier Dead

W. T. Coen, 74, Died Early Yesterday Morning At His Home There.

W. T. Coen, retired mail carrier and life-long resident of Patterson died at his home early Wednesday morning following a lingering illness of several months. He was 74 years of age. Funeral services will be held at the Church of Patterson Friday and burial will be made in the Patterson cemetery.

Coen was born on Oct. 20, 1855. In 1892 he was married to Miss Ella Haines and they were the parents of five children. He had been mail carrier for the territory in and arounf Patterson until eight years ago when he retired from his position.

Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Charles of Des Moines and Clarence of Patterson; three daughters, Mrs. Roy Falwell of Patterson, Mrs. Charles Wade of Des Moines, and Mrs. J. W. O'Hara of Winterset.
