Lillian May Palmer

Lillian May Palmer was born January 19, 1890 in Illinois and came to Iowa with her parents when a small child. She departed this life February 18, 1930 at the age of forty years and one month. She had lived with her parents all her life, having cared for her father since the death of her mother. She was the youngest of nine children; all of whom survive her, except a brother, Archer.

She early learned the beautiful life, having given her heart to God and united with Fairview Methodist church in girlhood. Through the years of sacrifice and service for others, she lived a devoted Christian life. During her mother's last illness, she was constantly at her bedside and since her death she cared for her father, expressing the wish often that she might be permitted to care for him as long as he lived. But it is not given to mankind to direct the end of life's journey and so to her was denied this loving desire. Disease fastened itself upon her body soon after her mother's death and medical aid was of no avail.

Beside her father, four brothers, Ellsworth and Carey of Earlham; Sam of Dexter and Lee of De Soto and three sisters, Mrs. Elmer Paullin of Booneville and Mrs. George Finney and Mrs. Maggie Finney of Winterset survive.

The funeral services were held at Fairview M. E. church, the pastor, Rev. W. W. Watson, in charge. Interment was made in Fairview cemetery.
