October 23, 1930-p.1Death of Harold Lorton
Arthur Lorton was called to Ames Saturday by the death of his brother, Harold E. Lorton. Mr. Lorton, who was an insurance agent, was working in Minnesota, and his car ran out of gasoline one-half mile from Bolivia, Minnesota. He attempted to stop a passing motorist to ask him for a ride to town, and the man in the machine ran over him. The driver stopped the car and took him to the town but he died almost instantly.
Mr. Lorton is survived by his wife and four children, who live in Ames; his mother, Mrs. Mary Lorton of Ames; his brother, Arthur of Winterset; and a brother and sister in Oklahoma.
Arthur Lorton returned to Winterset on Sunday and took Mrs. Lorton and children to Ames where the funeral services were held Monday afternoon. The body was taken to McPherson, Kansas for burial.
