Death of Mrs. Carrie Howell

Mrs. Carrie A. Howell, a former resident of Winterset, died January 27th at her home in Portland, Oregon. Mrs. Howell was formerly Miss Carrie Haskins and her marriage to Mr. Charles D. Howell was an event of 51 years ago. for many years the Howells lived in Winterset, occupying the house on East Court avenue now occupied by the Ramsey-Richards funeral home. Mr. Howell was in the lumber business here with the firm of Merrill & Howell.

The family moved from here to Des Moines about thirty years ago and they later moved to Portland, where they have since resided. The deceased was 73 years of age at the time of her death. She is survived by her husband and three children, Mrs. Maude A. Ferguson of North Bay, Ontario, Canada; John Guy Howell of Oakland, California; and Mrs. Marie Hamilton of Portland.
