“OUR CHIP BASKET”

We learn that the house belonging to John T. Stith, who was recently sent to the Insane Asylum, was burnt last Saturday morning with all its contents. We have no particulars. P.S. – We are now informed that the fire was caused by a defective flue. That two feather beds, some bed clothing, and a few childrens’ dresses were saved, also a sewing machine. Mrs. S. froze her face going to a neighbor’s house.

Sunday she learned that her husband had died the Wednesday before. A meeting of the neighborhood has been called to meet at the Hinkle schoolhouse Thursday evening to do what they can to lighten the blow.
