HENRY TAYLOR, WINTERSET

Henry M. Taylor, 89, of Winterset died June 3, 2007, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 7, at the First Christian Church in Winterset with the Revs. Rich Koster and Bill Branson officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday, June 6) at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset, with family receiving friends from 5–7 p.m. Burial will be at Earlham Cemetery.

Henry Taylor was born Feb. 19, 1918, to William and Cevilla (Bennett) Taylor of Earlham. His marriage to Edna Elizabeth Hymes took place Oct. 1, 1938, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He was a lifetime resident of Madison County, living in Earlham and Winterset. Henry retired as a custodian with the Winterset Community School District. He also worked at Farmers Co-op and had been a lifetime farmer. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. and Rebekah Lodge in Winterset.

He was preceded in death by his wife, four brothers, two sisters and a grandson, Richard Shawn Smith.

He is survived by two sons, Edward H. Taylor of Fairfield, Texas, and Ronald E. Taylor of Winterset; one daughter, Shelia M. Waltz of Winterset; and 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions given to the family will be directed to the First Christian Church or Care Center North Activity Fund, both of Winterset.
