In Memoriam

Our community was painfully shocked Tuesday morning, August 20th to hear of the sudden death of Nora Breen, age 21 years and 11 months.

Nora was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Breen of Lee township where she was born and raised, well loved and respected by all who knew her. When but a young girl she was a student of St. Joseph’s academy at Des Moines, where she won not only the approval but the life long friendship of her schoolmates and the Sisters. The funeral services were held at St. Patrick’s church, Thursday, Aug. 22nd.

Note: The following was appended to notice of the death of John J. Ryan.

The community was doubly shocked to learn that on Tuesday morning Miss Nora Breem, a niece of the late Mr. Ryan, has suddenly expired. Her remains were laid beside those of her uncle on Thursday morning from the same church. Miss Breem was a young lady of twenty-one years of age, and was highly esteemed by a host of friends. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community.

Crawford

Miss Nora Breen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Breen, of Lee township, not Breem, as mentioned in last week's News, was niece to J. J. Ryan and died suddenly the next morning after her uncle's funeral.

Her remains were interred in the Breen family burying lot, just the whole length of the cemetery from her uncle's grave. However they sleep in the same cemetery. May they rest in peace.
