SERVICES HELD HERE FOR M. C. LAWRENCE

Former Resident Succumbed Last Saturday at Home in Des Moines

M. C. Lawrence, who lived most of his life in Madison county and Winterset, died Sunday, March 16 at his home in Des Moines, where he lived for the past 20 years. He was 82 years of age.

During his active life, Mr. Lawrence was engaged in farming in this county. After retiring, he lived in Winterset for some time before moving to Des Moines.

He was married to Mary McPherson, April 30, 1884, and they were the parents of four children. Two have preceded him in death. Mrs. Len (Pearl) Krell in 1931, and Mrs. Loyd (Fern) Wilkinson, in 1925. Mrs. Lawrence died in 1934.

The cause of his death was reported as heart trouble and complications.

Funeral services were held in Winterset Monday from the Anderson home for funerals, in charge of the Rev. L. F. Davis. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

He is survived by a son, R. D. Lawrence, one daughter, Mrs. Don Milligan of Des Moines; and one grandson, William Lawrence Wilkinson of Winterset.
