MRS. RICHARD LETZ OF WEBSTER DIES

Had Lived in Webster and Lincoln Townships Nearly Half Century

Mrs. Richard E. Letz, well-known resident of Webster township, died at her home Monday at the age of 67 years.

Mrs. Letz was the former Marguarite Jane McIntyre, daughter of Charles and Margaret McIntyre, and was born June 2, 1874, in Chicago. When she was 3 years old she came with her parents to Iowa. They settled near Prole, and later moved to Adair county, where she was living when she was married to Richard E. Letz at Creston on Feb. 16, 1896.

Mr. and Mrs. Letz were the parents of nine children, all of whom survive their mother.

After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Letz moved to a farm in Webster township. In 1916 they moved to Lincoln township, living there until two years ago, when they moved back to Webster township.

She is survived by her husband; the nine children; 14 grandchildren; and four sisters. The children are: Mrs. Alice Arnold of Clark, Mo., Mrs. Veronica Stout of Peru; Clarence W. Letz of Des Moines, Cecil A. Letz of Winterset, Donald Letz of Lorimor, James Letz of Dexter, Mrs. June Clague of Earlham, Mrs. Byrl Armbrest of Los Angeles, Cal., and Dale Letz of Winterset. The surviving sisters are: Mrs. William Shrader, Mrs. John Colwell and Kathryn McIntyre of Stuart, and Mrs. Frank Bowen of Alberquerque, New Mexico.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. this Wednesday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, and burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
